Burger It Forward is a national celebration of Canadian beef burgers with community heart!
The goals of Burger It Forward:
Canada Beef is a not-for-profit organization that represents the 60,000 beef farming and ranching families across the country, providing promotion, information and advocacy for beef that's raised right here — Canadian beef.
Canada Beef is proud to lead the Burger It Forward campaign to help relieve food insecurity through food bank contributions.
For every campaign featured burger purchased, Canada Beef will donate the equivalent of 1 meal to Food Banks Canada.*
*up to a maximum of 20,000 meals (based on Food Banks Canada's meal metric: $1 = 2 meals).
Alberta Beef Producers are dedicated to maintaining a sustainable, competitive industry for the benefit of all Albertans. They currently represent over 18,000 beef cattle ranchers and farmers in Alberta.
As part of Burger It Forward, Alberta Beef Producers are donating $1000 to EACH, Calgary Food Bank, and Edmonton's Food Bank.
The Calgary Food Bank is the first line of emergency food support for Calgarians in crisis. As the city's main charitable food hub, we have the capacity to serve families, individuals and organizations to create a hunger-free community. The Calgary Food Bank relies on the support of our generous donors so that together we can fight hunger and its root causes because no one should go hungry.

Edmonton's Food Bank is committed to the mantra: Relieving hunger today. Preventing hunger tomorrow. Our mission is to be stewards of the in the collection of surplus and donated food collected for the effective distribution, free of charge, to people in need in our community while seeking solutions to the causes of hunger. We envision a community where hunger does not exist, where all citizens have access to an adequate and nutritious supply of food.

Food Banks Canada supports a network of 10 Provincial Associations and more than 4750 hunger relief organizations from coast to coast to coast, in every province and territory. Together, they work collaboratively towards a Canada where no one goes hungry.
All contributions made by Canada Beef from the Burger it Forward effort to Food Banks Canada go towards our national mission of relieving hunger today, and preventing hunger tomorrow, and are dispersed across the country. Food Banks Canada works at the national level to support food banks and community organizations across the country. We do this through food and funds. Through programs such as our capacity and access grants, which provide funding to food banks at the local level to make significant changes within their infrastructure and logistics. Our food programs distribute to food banks in the network equitably, based on food insecurity and poverty data and supplement the food that the food banks acquire locally. This is in addition to our government advocacy work and research.

Recognizing the challenges local restaurants have faced over recent years, participation in Burger It Forward is offered to restaurants with no registration fees.
Restaurants are encouraged to give back what they can to their local food banks as part of their contribution to the program. All Burger It Forward profiled burgers feature Canadian beef in support of local cattle farmers and ranchers.
