Burger It Forward is a national celebration of Canadian beef burgers with community heart!
The goals of Burger It Forward:
Canada Beef is a not-for-profit organization that represents the 60,000 beef farming and ranching families across the country, providing promotion, information and advocacy for beef that's raised right here — Canadian beef.
Canada Beef is proud to lead the Burger It Forward campaign to help relieve food insecurity through food bank contributions.
As part of the national campaign, for every campaign featured burger purchased, Canada Beef will donate the equivalent of 1 meal to Food Banks Canada*.
*up to a maximum of 20,000 meals (based on Food Banks Canada’s meal metric: $1 = 2 meals).
Nova Scotia Cattle Producers promote and assist in the sustainable development of Nova Scotia's beef production industry in the best interest of the members and, ultimately, all Nova Scotians.
New Brunswick Cattle Association represents local beef cattle producers to government, other sectors of the beef cattle industry, consumers and the public with respect to all matters concerning the production and marketing of beef from the region.
As part of Burger It Forward, New Brunswick Cattle Producers is donating $4,000 worth of ground beef sourced from Atlantic Beef Products to New Brunswick Food Depot Alimentaire. Nova Scotia Cattle Producers is donating $4,000 of ground beef, also sourced from Atlantic Beef Products, to Feed Nova Scotia.
Wherever the road takes you, there's always a warm welcome waiting for you at one of the 15 Big Stop restaurants across Atlantic Canada taking part in Burger It Forward!
Big Stop is a place where the whole family can stop to refuel for the journey ahead. And when you do stop by a Big Stop Restaurant, you'll be treated to local hospitality in addition to their tasty homestyle meals.
For February 2026, Big Stop Restaurants are supporting food banks through Burger It Forward in unique ways:
• Dig-in to any of their 5 beef burgers -- sure to satisfy any burger fan! The purchase of any burger in February from any Irving Big Stop Restaurant will activate a donation from Canada Beef to help relieve food insecurity across the country.
• Each Big Stop Restaurant will be dedicating 5% of the sales generated by These Chairs Care tables to the food bank in their community. Ask to sit at the designated These Chairs Care for February 2026 to support your local food bank.
• Irving Corporate will be matching the contributions raised by the These Chairs Care efforts.
Atlantic Beef Products (ABP) is a state-of-the-art beef processing facility that marries old world farming traditions with leading edge processing. Federally inspected, ABP is the culmination of the vision, dedication and cooperation of key people and groups - cattle farmers, the beef industry, federal and provincial governments — all working together towards a growing contribution to the Atlantic Canada economy.
Atlantic Beef Products Inc will provide a $1500 donation to the Bridges to Hope organization. This giveback support will be provided in the equivalent value of ground beef sourced from Atlantic Beef Products.
SHAKE IT UP! (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia only)
This February, Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick and Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia will donate $1 to select regional food banks for every milkshake that is added to your Burger It Forward Big Stop burger order.
The more burger and milkshakes served up, the closer Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick and Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia will get to their goal of $10,000.00 donated* in support of local food security!
Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick will donate up to a maximum of $5,000 to Food Depot Alimentaire. Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia will donate up to $5,000 to Feed Nova Scotia.
People need support today and Feed Nova Scotia is here to help by collecting and distributing more than seven million pounds of food each year to over 130 food banks, meal programs, and shelters across the province.
Feed Nova Scotia also works to educate Nova Scotians about the root causes of food insecurity - things like low wages and income supports, systemic racism, and unaffordable housing, all while providing support to the member agencies as they build capacity to serve their communities. Feed Nova Scotia advocates for sustainable, policy-based solutions that will allow everyone to live a life of dignity and leave no one relying on charitable band-aids to address human rights.

For over 40 years, food banks have been dedicated to helping people living in Canada with food insecurity. Over 5,500 food banks and community organizations come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbours, who — this year — made close to 2.2 million visits to these organizations in one month alone, according to our HungerCount report. Since 2010, Food Banks Canada has shared over $1 billion in food supports and over $275 million in funding to help maximize collective impact and strengthen local capacity—while, backed by leading research, advocating for meaningful actions from governments to counter hunger and its root causes.
