Burger It Forward is a national celebration of Canadian beef burgers with community heart!
The goals of Burger It Forward:
Canada Beef is a not-for-profit organization that represents the 60,000 beef farming and ranching families across the country, providing promotion, information and advocacy for beef that's raised right here — Canadian beef.
Canada Beef is proud to lead the Burger It Forward campaign to help relieve food insecurity through food bank contributions.
For every campaign featured burger purchased, Canada Beef will donate the equivalent of 1 meal to Food Banks Canada.*
*up to a maximum of 20,000 meals (based on Food Banks Canada's meal metric: $1 = 2 meals).
Les Producteurs de bovins du Québec is an agricultural association representing 11,400 producers all across the province. It supports business development and growth, production, and overall needs in Quebec's cattle industry to bring consumers a quality product that meets their standards.
600,000 Quebecers rely on our network for food assistance, including 35% who are children.
Since 1988, our association, Food Banks of Quebec, has played a key role in feeding them. Our strength? We are at the head of a formidable provincial network made of 18 Moisson and 15 Associate members. Our 33 independent regional members serve 1,400 local community organizations, who handle 3.1 million requests for food assistance across the province every month.
Our mission is to support our members by pooling and increasing resources and expertise, ensuring access to nutritious foodstuff for vulnerable populations throughout Quebec.
Food Banks Canada is the leader in addressing food insecurity in Canada. Our mission is to provide national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network from coast to coast to coast. For over 40 years, food banks have been dedicated to helping people living in Canada with food insecurity. Over 5,500 food banks and community organizations come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbours, who — this year — made close to 2.2 million visits to these organizations in one month alone, according to our HungerCount report. Since 2010, Food Banks Canada has shared over $1 billion in food supports and over $275 million in funding to help maximize collective impact and strengthen local capacity—while, backed by leading research, advocating for meaningful actions from governments to counter hunger and its root causes. Recognizing the challenges local restaurants have faced over recent years, participation in Burger It Forward is offered to restaurants with no registration fees.
Restaurants are encouraged to give back what they can to their local food banks as part of their contribution to the program. All Burger It Forward profiled burgers feature Canadian beef in support of local cattle farmers and ranchers.
